The information
The idea was to show the birthplaces of the players of the NBA, city by city, country by contry. It should work as a 'trend map', but also as local information. Spanish people can take a look and see the distribution of the birthplaces in the US, someone form the US could look for his state, his city or navigate it also as a trends map.
The design
The best way to show this information was, in my opinion, a bubble map, but I had to create some 'zoom areas' where there were too many players in a tiny space. I also added the first and second starting fives of each state, as curious data, just for fun.
