The information
We had to have a medal table for London 2012, but we didn't wnated the classical one, so we did one not only offering the classic information, but also other classifications, like the medal ranking by GDP, by population, by geopolitical groups (USSR, NATO, islands, muslim countries...), by languages... The data was updated live.

The design
We created a 645px width version for our website and static page, but also a narrower widget to show on the frontpage and sections, and it was also offered with embeddable code, so anyone could take it to his web.
We decide not to include bars or bubbles. The ranking was enough and we neede space to display the data. The graphic would disturb rather than clarify.
